New Wii Opera Browser + Hidden Wiimote Browser Controls

Overall, the new full version opera browser recently released for the Wii is pretty well made.

The browser has better stability with no crashes after ~3 hrs of browsing the web.

Here is a full list of Commands that you can do with the Wiimote to navigate with the browser:

Regular Commands

A: Select/Click

Hold B: Free Scroll (much like pressing middle mouse click and moving the cursor in the way you want to scroll)

2 Button: Switch between Automatic or Manual zoom

(+) Key: Zoom in (if in manual zoom mode)
(-) Key: Zoom out (if in manual zoom mode)

Directional pad up: Scroll page up

Directional pad down: Scroll page down

Directional pad left: Scroll page left

Directional pad right: Scroll page right

Hidden Commands
B + Directional pad up:
Refresh current page

B + Directional pad down: Favorites/Bookmarks

B + Directional pad left: Search current page

B + Directional pad right: Enter new URL (similar to address bar in your common browser)

B + (-) key : Go Back a page (similar to back button on your browser)

B + (+) Key: Go forward one page (similar to Forward button on your browser)

Thanks for that. Those are nice hidden shortcuts.

Don't forget how you can set the 1 button to hide the toolbar at the bottom.

They aren't hidden, read the manual/instructions and it tells you...

There are some genuinely 'hidden' commands - eg, holding + or - (when in fixed zoom mode) zooms in or out manually.

Hi

Please forgive a newbie. I'm not online with my Wii myself yet, but my son-in-law is with his.
I have found a website which I want to show my grandchildren this weekend (when I visit them) and I want to make sure that the games will work in the Wii browser before I make a fool of myself.
The website is http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/
and the games are very pretty, child-friendly flash games.
Will they work on the Wii? Now, some stupid questions. Am I right to assume that moving the Wii-mote pointer on the screen is the same as moving a mouse, and that pressing A is the same as left-click?
A few of the games require the player to press space-bar. Can you do this on Wii-mote by pressing B or something?
Can someone try a few of the games out on the Wii for me? My grandkids are much too young for Zelda and Red Steel! Simple point-and-click is about all they can manage. The games at Orisinal would be perfect if they work.
Thanks
Michael

Hi Michael,

With the opera browser you can point-click and drag as a normal mouse do. I know thr Orisinal games, havent tested but they will possibly work on the wii opera browser..

You may check miniclip.com for a test what type of flash games you may play on wii. Since they have a web page called wiipowered when you open the site form the wii opera browser
